SimpleTalk not working? Here's what to do.

In this guide

What should I do if SimpleTalk is not working?

Test one call to find the failed step, then give urgent calls and callbacks a working fallback. Check the phone connection, agent, CRM update and booking separately. Before restarting a campaign, find out which calls already happened so customers are not called twice. Keep the failure time and call details for troubleshooting.

Key points
  • Find the failed step with one controlled test.
  • Route urgent work to a reachable person or callback queue.
  • Check completed calls and bookings before restarting outreach.

Find the broken step

Make one test call to a number your team controls. Note whether it connects, whether the agent responds, and whether the expected result appears in your CRM or calendar. Use the table below to choose the next check.

If the interface is unresponsive, avoid repeatedly launching the same campaign. Check whether the first request created calls before trying again.

Keep callers and callbacks covered

Choose the numbers and customer requests that need attention first. A support line, new sales inquiries and routine reminders may need different coverage. Tell the person covering each queue what they should capture and what they can resolve.

If you control number routing, test a staffed destination before redirecting calls to it. If another party controls routing, contact that account administrator and prepare a callback process for requests you can still receive.

  1. Choose critical queues

List the numbers and customer actions that need coverage now, with business hours and an accountable owner.

  2. Test the fallback

Call the destination from outside the system. Verify the greeting, staffed hours, voicemail and callback ownership.

  3. Reconcile missed work

Create a single list of unanswered inquiries, pending callbacks and uncertain bookings. Mark each completed item to prevent duplication.

Keep a short record of the problem

Save the error text, affected number, test time and call identifier if one is available. Add the last time the workflow worked and any settings changed since then. This is enough to give your team or a replacement provider a useful starting point.

Use redacted examples in an initial discussion. Share recordings or customer records through an agreed secure channel when they are needed.

  • Who is handling the problem?
  • Which customer actions are affected?
  • Where are urgent calls going now?
  • Which calls or appointments still need a follow-up?
  • When will the team check again and decide the next step?

Restart without repeating customer work

Check which contacts were called, which appointments exist and which results may still arrive. Remove completed work from the restart list. When the replacement takes over, stop the old trigger from calling the same audience.

Start the replacement with a small set of calls. Check the conversation and its real CRM or calendar result before increasing volume. Keep a fallback that is currently reachable.

Common questions

Does a failed call mean SimpleTalk is down for everyone?

No. It shows a problem with that call or workflow. Record the account, number, time and result before drawing a wider conclusion.

Should I restart all my SimpleTalk workflows?

First check what has already completed. Restarting an unclear queue can create duplicate calls, bookings or follow-up messages.

Can I move if I cannot open my old account?

You can plan a replacement from business instructions and other systems you control. Missing source records or number access need a separate resolution; write those gaps into the plan.
