Can I reuse my SimpleTalk agents and prompts?
Bring the prompts, business knowledge and conversation rules you can access. They are the starting point for rebuilding your agent in Assistable. Booking tools, transfers, voices and CRM actions need their own setup checks. Test realistic conversations and the results they create before approving the replacement for customer calls.
Key points
- Bring instructions, knowledge and examples of the intended result.
- Check the actions behind the conversation, including booking and transfers.
- Approve the spoken experience and the real CRM or calendar output.
Bring the instructions behind the agent
Save the greeting, prompt, business information, qualification questions and rules for involving a person. Include any approved examples of good call outcomes.
Add the connections the prompt relies on: calendar, customer lookup, CRM updates and transfer destinations. Copying the words alone will not reconnect those actions.
If the old agent is inaccessible, start with your current scripts and business rules. Note what is missing so the rebuilt version can be reviewed against what your business needs today.
Make a simple agent brief
Use one brief per agent or distinct job. Separate shared instructions from details such as a location's hours, service area and transfer number.
| Part | What to bring |
|---|---|
| Job | Who the agent speaks to and what a successful call achieves |
| Opening | How it introduces the business and checks the right person |
| Knowledge | Approved services, hours, prices, policies and answers |
| Questions | Which answers change qualification or the next action |
| Actions | What it can book, update, look up or transfer |
| Limits | When it should stop, clarify or ask a person to help |
| Fallback | What it should do when information or a tool is unavailable |
| Call result | What staff need to see after the conversation |
Test five conversations
Use examples from your operation. Write the expected result before each test so your reviewer knows what to check.
A normal successful call
Check the full conversation and the correct appointment, CRM update or handoff it creates.
Missing or unclear information
Leave a field blank, interrupt or give an ambiguous answer. Check that the agent clarifies rather than guessing.
Something you cannot offer
Ask for an unavailable time, unsupported service or policy exception. Check the explanation and next step.
A failed action
Use a test setup where a destination is unavailable. Check that the agent does not say an unconfirmed booking or transfer succeeded.
A request to stop or speak to someone
Check both the agent's response and the recorded follow-up or outreach preference.
Review the voice and the business facts
Listen for pronunciation, pace, interruptions and tone. Have the business owner approve what customers will hear. A new voice or model can change the experience even with similar written instructions.
For a custom voice, confirm that your account has the necessary access, rights and destination support. If it cannot move, choose and review a replacement.
Check that the knowledge is current. Correct outdated hours, offers and policies before they become part of the new agent.
Keep the version your team approved
Save the accepted instructions, connected actions and test results together. Name the person who will maintain the business information and check relevant behavior after changes.
Start with the agent whose job is clearest. Once its workflow works, use the same brief and test pattern for the next one.
Common questions
Can I paste the old prompt into the new platform?
You can use it as source material. Review the variables, connected actions and model behavior, then test the result. Pasting text does not reconnect calendars or CRM automation.
Can I keep the same voice?
Check the voice provider, account access, rights and destination support. If the voice cannot move, select a replacement and approve how it sounds.
What if I cannot export the agent?
Rebuild from approved scripts, business information and the systems you control. Record missing settings and test the rebuilt behavior explicitly.
